CodeSignal Unveils Conversation Practice AI Tool for Enhancing Soft Skills

In Brief

CodeSignal has launched a new tool, Conversation Practice, powered by AI, that replicates real-world workplace interactions and provides customized feedback.

A platform for assessing technical skills CodeSignal launched Conversation Practice, a tool powered by AI aimed at mimicking workplace dialogues and providing tailored feedback.

Utilizing skill data gathered from a wealth of engineering job descriptions across top tech firms, this tool is designed to help engineers at various stages of their careers refine soft skills like leadership and effective communication. Users engage in simulated dialogues with an AI character to practice these competencies. Following each interaction, the AI mentor, Cosmo, offers constructive feedback to help users elevate their skill set.

When a user interacts with the voice agent, their audio output travels from their browser to CodeSignal’s server. There, it is transformed into text via a speech-to-text model. To maintain uniform audio quality and streamline processing, CodeSignal employs adaptive resampling methods that minimize inconsistencies, ensuring that the audio data aligns with the necessary sampling rate for precise transcription.

Once the user’s spoken input has been translated into text, this information is analyzed by a specialized large language model (LLM) to craft a response. That response is then converted back into audio using a text-to-speech model and sent back to the user for them to listen to.

The conversation practice feature is now part of the soft skills learning path available on CodeSignal Learn.
