Cloudera and AWS Join Forces to Boost Data Management for AI Solutions in Enterprises

In Brief

According to Cloudera, this partnership will utilize AWS services to create an open data lakehouse designed for secure enterprise generative AI applications.

The enterprise-focused AI company Cloudera has officially entered into a strategic collaboration agreement (SCA) with Amazon Web Services (AWS) . The companies mentioned that this agreement reflects a significant investment in enhancing the growth and scalability of cloud-native data management and analytics on the AWS platform.

Cloudera stated this partnership will leverage AWS services to drive continuous innovation and lower costs for their mutual clients, while simultaneously establishing an open data lakehouse for dependable enterprise generative AI.

The organization indicated that it chose AWS as the preferred platform for hosting essential components of its customer data platform (CDP) due to its focus on optimizing its open data lakehouse platform. This decision includes a comprehensive range of elements such as real-time data, data lake houses, data warehouses, operational databases, AI/machine learning integrations, master data management, and robust security measures.

Addressing Enterprise AI Data Workflows via Cloud-Based Data Management

Cloudera claims that this strategic selection enables clients to transition to the CDP in a cloud environment without needing to overhaul their existing applications, while also supporting hybrid setups. Furthermore, the CDP platform has been adeptly crafted to seamlessly integrate with various AWS offerings, like Amazon Simple Storage Service (Amazon S3), Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service (Amazon EKS), Amazon Relational Database Service (Amazon RDS), and Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (Amazon EC2).

The firm asserts that this integration will help lower costs and take advantage of the latest AWS advancements, all without placing the burden of managing these complex integrations on Cloudera’s clients.

"By enhancing hardware and AWS service integration, our customers achieve an unsurpassed experience with robust security and governance, along with cost-saving options to support their critical analytical processes,\" commented Paul Codding, Executive Vice President of Product Management at Cloudera. \"In collaboration, Cloudera and AWS provide businesses with the necessary tools to construct and operate data applications tailored to the evolving demands of their operations.\"

The collaboration encompasses more than just technology integration. Both AWS and Cloudera have pledged to work together on marketing and co-selling initiatives, aiming to further elevate customer engagement.

Chris Grusz, General Manager of Technology Partnerships and Marketplace at AWS, emphasized the importance of this partnership, stating, \"Cloudera has fortified its collaboration with AWS, enabling shared customers to maximize their existing investments in CDP and expedite their migration to cloud solutions.\"
