Hong Kong's Chief Executive Voices Support for Web3 and Cutting-Edge Technologies

John Lee Ka-chiu, the Chief Executive of Hong Kong, stated that he sees web3 as a significant new direction for the evolution of the Internet.

In his address, Lee Ka-chiu affirmed that the government will persist in its support for the integration of culture and cutting-edge technologies and will urge artists and arts organizations to take advantage of these advancements. To bolster this endeavor, the East Kowloon Cultural Center's Art Technology Academy will promote interactions and collaborations between artists and tech specialists.

During the Innovation, Technology, and Art Development Summit 2023 on August 15, John Lee Ka-chiu, the Chief Executive of Hong Kong and a seasoned politician, expressed his belief that web3 symbolizes a new frontier in Internet progress.

The summit, titled 'Web 3.0 Revisited: Creating a Bright New Beginning', was organized by Bauhinia Magazine. Lee communicated his message through a video presentation.

In his address, Lee Ka-chiu noted that the government is committed to fostering the blend of culture and innovative technology, encouraging artists to harness the power of these advancements. The East Kowloon Cultural Center's Art Technology Academy will assist in promoting collaboration between creatives and tech experts.

The University of Hong Kong has recently rolled out a plan to embed AI tools into its curriculum, set to launch in the upcoming academic year of 2023-24, granting unrestricted access to these AI resources for both educators and students.

Furthermore, Hong Kong is committed to creating a favorable landscape for innovators within the virtual asset sector by adopting an open and welcoming stance. The city is aspiring to establish itself as a global center for innovative technology and a hub for cultural and artistic dialogue between China and the world.
