Cheetos rolls out the Chesterville Halloween adventure within Horizon Worlds.

In Brief

Cheetos is excited to launch 'Chesterville' in Meta's Horizon Worlds.

Gamers can collect points and gain access to virtual spaces that offer distinctive experiences.

PepsiCo's Cheetos has partnered with Gary Vaynerchuk's Web3 agency, Vayner3, to introduce a Halloween-themed experience called 'Chesterville' in the metaverse.

Chesterville 'Chesterville' represents a digital suburban community in Meta’s Horizon Worlds filled with various virtual spots for players to engage in gamified activities where they can earn points for their 'mischief meters.' These points allow them entry to a special virtual mansion on 'Cheetos Hill.' Once they unlock this location, players get to make an intriguing choice—whether or not to revive a special Cheetos flavor that's been long gone.

In addition to accumulating in-game points, Cheetos enthusiasts can also access gaming experiences through Cheetle Codes found on the brand's social platforms.

Nada Stirratt, the vice president of the global business group at Meta, expressed, 'Progressive brands are beginning to craft engaging experiences, and we’re truly excited to have Cheetos at the forefront with their inaugural virtual reality experience in Meta Horizon Worlds. It's inspiring to witness such a well-known brand leveraging our platforms to innovate and connect with consumers in fresh, exciting ways. We’re looking forward to seeing how fans channel their inner Chester Cheetah this Halloween and beyond.'

Regrettably, only those with the Meta Quest 2 virtual reality headsets can access the Chesterville experience due to restricted availability.

Lately, the social media giant has encountered challenges, with its Metaverse platform expected to hit 500,000 monthly active users by the year-end, backed by a hefty $15 billion investment. However, as of October 17, Horizon Worlds only boasted 200,000 monthly active users, falling short of the revised target of 280,000 players. Experts suggest that the sluggish performance may stem from the steep pricing of VR headsets and a sparse player pool for shared experiences.

The NFT initiative Deadfellaz collaborates with renowned DJ Steve Aoki to launch a Halloween-themed fashion collection. featured less than Meta introduces Meta Accounts, a new system for logging into Horizon Worlds.
