Bitcoin L2 Network BOB Joins Forces with LayerZero to Enhance Its Features

In Brief

The BOB network has partnered with LayerZero to support developers in launching applications on various blockchains that LayerZero backs.

Bitcoin Layer 2 network BOB (Built on Bitcoin) has aligned with a protocol that enables omnichain interoperability, LayerZero . With this new connection, developers from both Bitcoin and EVM backgrounds can roll out their apps not just on BOB but across a variety of blockchains supported by LayerZero.

BOB operates as a hybrid Layer 2 scaling framework, merging Bitcoin’s robust security with innovative technologies. Ethereum . This partnership empowers users to access Ethereum’s decentralized applications (dApps), stablecoins, NFTs, and DeFi services—all while remaining on the Bitcoin network.

Thanks to its collaboration with LayerZero, BOB can connect with over 65 different blockchains. This collaboration allows developers from Bitcoin and EVM spheres to swiftly launch their solutions not only on BOB but also on a range of blockchains endorsed by LayerZero.

LayerZero’s OFT Standard Boosts Over 100 Teams in Crafting Blockchain Applications

LayerZero This open-source, immutable messaging protocol is designed to simplify the creation of omnichain and interoperable applications. Using LayerZero, developers can easily send all types of data, make external function calls, and transfer tokens while maintaining complete ownership and control over their applications.

Since its launch, LayerZero has facilitated the deployment of more than 40,000 OApp contracts. Currently, over 100 teams are utilizing LayerZero’s OFT Standard to support various tokens and build extensive applications consisting of OApps, covering an array of offerings such as lending platforms, stablecoins, bridges, enterprise solutions, NFTs, meme tokens, and identification systems.

Earlier this year, LayerZero introduced V2, which aims to enhance the design from V1 while reinforcing the core tenets of its system—these include permissionless, censorship-resistant, and immutable interoperability. The LayerZero V2 is now live on both main and testnet platforms.

In a recent development, LayerZero has formed a partnership with Klaytn, a public blockchain in South Korea, allowing developers to broaden their applications across its blockchains within sectors like DeFi, gaming, and NFTs.
