The company revealed that its generative AI chatbot now features five new native plugins, allowing for the speedy processing of extensive documents, advanced data analytics and visualization, engaging image interactions, and transforming text into video.
Recent updates also feature the incorporation of Baidu Search for more accurate results; ChatFile enables interactive dialogues for long documents using automated analytics and visualization—this includes generating word clouds and enhancing image-based dialogues, along with converting text into dynamic video content.
Baidu announced that ERNIE Bot has significantly increased its training throughput by three times and boosted its inference capabilities by over 30 times since its launch in March.
Furthermore, Baidu claims that ERNIE Bot can now expertly handle 200 different writing styles, enhancing content quality by 1.6 times since its launch. Additional improvements include a 2.1 times increase in its reasoning capabilities and an impressive 8.3 times expansion in its knowledge base, which greatly enhances the chatbot’s understanding.
Innovative AI Solutions for the Business Sector
The company showcased the advanced version of its PaddlePaddle deep learning platform, which has attracted eight million developers, accommodated 220,000 enterprises, and supported 800,000 models.
In his keynote address, Baidu’s Chief Technology Officer Haifeng Wang emphasized that the core abilities of AI – understanding, creating, reasoning, and memory – are bringing us closer to the realization of artificial general intelligence (AGI).
Other highlights from the summit included the announcement of InfoFlow, an AI-centric application designed to transform the interaction between businesses and developers in the AI space.
Moreover, Baidu proclaimed that its proprietary AI coding assistant, Baidu Comate, can provide intelligent suggestions and generate code, comments, test cases, and documentation.
This AI-driven coding assistant was created to enhance research and development productivity across a range of programming languages and IDEs, and it's now officially available for enterprise developers.
The summit also saw the launch of the AI Studio Co-Creation Plan, aiming to promote collaborative development of AI applications among developers.
Tian Wu, Baidu’s Corporate Vice President, mentioned that the AI Studio (Xinghe Community) has now become China's leading AI community, with over six million development projects.
In light of the rising interest in foundation models (FMs), AI Studio has launched its AI Studio FM Community, which offers a comprehensive development environment.
