MotoGP™ Championship Quest stands out as a highly-rated racing title on Google Play, boasting millions of downloads and consistently earning five-star ratings from users. It’s freely accessible on both Google Play and the App Store, creating an opportunity for players to compete against each other globally. Enthusiasts can customize their avatars and enhance their motorcycles to gain competitive advantages during races. Now, this popular game is preparing for its Web3 transition alongside WePlay Media.
With this acquisition, Animoca Brands aims to enhance engagement among motorsport fans through the existing platform of MotoGP™ Championship Quest. It also provides an avenue for Animoca to conceptualize new gaming experiences for motorsport lovers worldwide, while amplifying its presence within the burgeoning esports sector.
Founded in 2014 by industry veterans Graeme Warring and Mark DeSimone, WePlay Media will continue under Warring's leadership post-acquisition, steering MotoGP-related initiatives in collaboration with Animoca Brands’ dedicated team focused on revolutionizing the blockchain motorsport ecosystem. REVV Motorsport Animoca Brands first joined forces with MotoGP™ back in 2019 when they launched motorsport-themed NFTs. Their collaboration led to the creation of MotoGP™ Ignition. Recently, in June, Animoca announced its upcoming features including prominent roles at Aragon and Australia in 2022, alongside participation in two additional MotoGP events in the next season. In collaboration with the NFT platform MADWorld and MotoGP champion Jorge Lorenzo, Animoca Brands is also set to release an NFT collection titled “X-Fuera,” which will be tied to a play-to-earn racing game.
