Adim's inaugural Web3 writers’ room is just the beginning of an exciting plan to develop what McElhenney calls the 'Adimverse,' which will feature a plethora of original intellectual properties from contributing creators. In a recent statement, McElhenney emphasized the importance of collaboration in the creation of beloved characters across film, television, and gaming. He highlighted that 'Adim is set to usher in the next phase of community evolution, bringing together designers, writers, artists, fans, and friends to collaborate on a new generation of content ownership.'
What is the plan for Adim?
Reports indicate that around 100 content creators will be handpicked from applicants to join McElhenney and TV writer Keyonna Taylor in a virtual writers' room. After each session, participants will receive a 'Core Character' NFT, symbolizing their stake in the ownership of the collectively created intellectual property.
Those holding the non-transferable NFTs will have the opportunity to earn royalties or a share of the revenue from projects that incorporate their jointly developed IP. While the specific blockchain for these NFTs is yet to be disclosed, Adim has referenced Ethereum gas fees and recommended wallets like Rainbow and MetaMask.
Chris Dixon, a general partner at Adim, tweeted about the company successfully raising approximately $5 million through seed funding, led by the venture capital firm Andreessen Horowitz.
Adim was co-founded by McElhenney, along with well-known entrepreneur Richard Rosenblatt and team members Melissa Kaspers, Spencer Marell, and Chase Rosenblatt. The board of advisors includes prominent figures like Kaitlin Olson and Ryan Reynolds.
Adim's initiative in collaborative co-creation isn't a novel concept;
Adim joins other projects in the NFT space seeking to foster collaboration among creators. Recently, Archie Comics introduced an 'Archieverse' initiative designed to engage NFT holders in creative processes for comic book storytelling.
In a similar vein, Lost Children of Andromeda allows NFT collectors to shape characters intended for Jason Michael Primrose's upcoming sci-fi novels. Also, the wrestling-themed animated series The Gimmicks, co-created by Mila Kunis' studio, invites NFT owners to influence character development and story arcs.
