The gaming-focused branch of leading venture capital firm Andreessen Horowitz has announced 'Speedrun,' a startup school catering to both new and established gaming entrepreneurs eager to develop their ideas or scale their operations.
Over the course of six weeks, this startup school will offer personalized mentoring sessions and collaborative group hours, alongside presentations from industry veterans. Featured speakers will include Eros Resmini, the former CMO of Discord; Josh Lu, who once served as VP at Blizzard Entertainment; Kevin Lin, one of the Twitch founders; and Ben Feder, who previously held the President role at Tencent.
Participants will delve into various essential subjects such as business strategies, artificial intelligence, user-generated content, web3 technologies, and augmented/virtual reality. They'll acquire skills to create and launch games, build teams, secure funding, and manage live operations effectively.
Aspiring participants should come prepared with a clear concept they wish to pursue and the capability to execute it.
Interested teams can apply The application window is open until April 21. Interviews for chosen candidates will occur between April 24 and 28, leading to the program's kickoff in May. Interestingly, the inaugural event will take place in person, with successful candidates flown out to San Francisco and Los Angeles. The showcase days are set for June 5 to 9.
It is noteworthy that back in October 2022, Andreessen Horowitz also introduced a Crypto Startup School. This initiative began in March and includes mentorship from top founders, along with networking prospects.
